The venue of the Getaway will be entirely different than it has been in the past. When we made the decision to continue the main consideration to do so was to cut down on the work load required of me, if this could be accomplished then we would continue with the Event. So we will see how this works, and if it is a success we will have the Getaway Reunion for many more years.
I will no longer be handling registrations and keeping track of meals. I have designed a Forum (see Forum link on left) where all details about the Event will be posted. It is everyone’s responsibility to join the Forum and participate. It is ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT that you take the polls in the ‘Activities’ section forum. This is the ONLY way we will be able to know how many to expect at each activity. As well, if you are a couple attending, both must join the forum in order to give us an accurate count on the activities you will be attending, you both must take the polls.
Please, post your questions on the forum rather than e-mail me directly. this way the committee can help with replying to any questions you may have.
Venue:
1. All Lodging will be your own responsibility. You will make reservations yourself as well as pay for your lodging. We have secured 50 rooms at the Best Western Inn of the Ozarks (see lodging page) where the dinner on Saturday night will be held. These are at a special rate and on a first come first served basis, so make your reservations early.
2. The Dinner on Saturday night will cost between $15-$20 per person. I should have the dinner menu on the site soon, so please watch the forum for details. At this time I do know that there will be Prime Rib along with several other entrees to choose from. This will be collected at the door so please have exact change. We will not be able to take credit cards. All other meals are the responsibility of those attending.
3. We have a few activities planned, please see the ‘Activities’ link above. Be sure to take the poll for each in the Forum regarding these activities. Again, this is extremely important as we need a count to assure seating for everyone.
It is our sincere hope that these changes will be successful and the Getaway can continue on.
